try and catch the wind.

waking up a half hour before the alarm is set to go off. (nb: then going back to sleep, hahah!)

discovering an amazing song, downloading it off iTunes...then listening to it on repeat.

feeding banana nut bread to the squirrels in the courtyard.

random hugs from little kids.

inchworms.

going far enough out in the ocean so that my toes barely touch bottom.

old people holding hands.

swinging from vines.

big fat toads.

being a medical student.

all of these i love.

the souls of your traveling shoes.

flowers on a fence. french quarter, new orleans.

i haven't written for a really long time....story of my life. ha.

noteworthy business:

3.23.07 to 4.1.07 was spring break. it was spent with eight other temple med kids in slidell, louisiana doing renovations on several buildings hit by katrina. paint was scraped, fences were stretched, walls were bleached, and ceilings removed. no kresge, no textbooks, no powerpoints. just a solid eight hour day out in the sun. it was utterly cathartic.

as i sat on the roof of norm's gym, it occurred to me that new orleans felt very much like.....home. the people, the atmosphere, everything was familiar. i woke early the day of my departure to walk around French Quarter. had a lovely iced mocha and a croissant. took some pictures. perfect.

coming back to philadelphia was nothing short of a tragedy. ::sigh::

block 5 was neuroscience. started out cool, got progressively lamer towards the end. still awaiting grades.

in other news...

i liked new orleans so much that i'm going back to do research for the summer at the children's hospital. i'm living at loyola....and.....well....

::i'm so excited!!:::

more later.....must study....yuk.....
